About the role
Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated HR Coordinator that will be responsible for working closely with leaders, employees, candidates and various internal / external stakeholders, providing efficient and timely coordination, guidance, exemplary service and support across the full employee life cycle and other 360 HR activities. About the role
Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer for a Design Manager role to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs (Substation) team. The role involves designing substation primary engineering for substations up to 500kV, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements. It includes optimizing designs considering constraints, performing detailed substation calculations, and ensuring clash-free layouts through coordination. Responsibilities also cover defining design subsystems for accurate costing, specifying high-voltage equipment, and interfacing with multiple disciplines while reviewing technical documents and system studies.
The main function of the role is to design the substations for the Central-West Orana ACJV project
Identify all relevant standards and local Customer requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant National / International Standards and contract specifications
Understand how the various considerations and constraints effect the design and develop different solutions as part of the design optimisation process
Coordination of interference checker and its resolution - ensure clash free design based on the definition of clash checks defined by each discipline for internal review steps
Prepare substation design calculations e.g. earthing design, busbar sizing, SC force calculations, lightning protection, Battery Sizing, cable sizing, cable schedules, circuit breaker selection, bus, fittings, insulator, transformer sizing and arrector selection

Awareness of cost allowances, daily costing of works, and managing project budgets effectively.
Understanding of relevant HSE policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including Rail Safety legislation where applicable.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications
Preferable 5+ years’ experience in Construction/Engineering.
Trades qualification relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries are highly regarded.
Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impress others in order to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
Clear communication – verbal and written.
